Brielle area

Atlas Hotel Village*** is located in the centre of Brielle.

Brielle is situated in an area with a wide variety of landscapes, including the "Bernisse" nature reserve and the old Maas river, as well as several surrounding municipalities with distinct character. The Maasvlakte, Europoort, and the international port of Rotterdam are therefore easily accessible from Brielle.

The historic town of Brielle ("Den Briel") is best known for the Sea Beggars who liberated "Den Briel" from the Spanish on April 1, 1572. This history is commemorated every year on April 1st with a festive event, with hundreds of citizens donning historical costumes and re-enacting the capture. Under the watchful eye of the monumental St. Catharine Church, whose foundation stone was laid in 1417, the town has built all sorts of facilities typical of a garrison town over the centuries, such as the Provost's Office and the Main Guardhouse.

Brielle is a historic city with some 400 monuments, ranging from town halls to simple homes. A walk along the beautiful, fully intact ramparts, topped by the wooden post mill 't Vliegend Hert, offers an excellent glimpse into its rich history. The link below shows all the events being organized in 2019.
