Brielle area
Atlas Hotel Village*** is located in the centre of Brielle.
Brielle is located in an area with a great diversity of landscapes such as the nature reserve "Bernisse" and the old Maas, as well as with various surrounding municipalities with different characters. The Maasvlakte, Europoort and the world port of Rotterdam are therefore very easy to reach from Brielle.
The historic town of Brielle (“Den Briel”) is best known for the water beggars who liberated "Den Briel" from the Spanish on 1 April 1572. This history is commemorated every year on 1 April in a festive manner, with hundreds of citizens dressing in historical clothing and re-enacting the capture. Under the watchful eye of the monumental St. Catharijnekerk, the foundation stone of which was laid in 1417, the town has built all kinds of facilities that belong to a garrison town over the centuries, such as the Provost and the Hoofdwacht.
Brielle is a monumental city with some 400 monuments, ranging from city halls to simple homes. A walk over the beautiful, still completely intact ramparts, with the wooden post mill 't Vliegend Hert on top, gives you an excellent impression of the rich history. On the link below you can view all events that are organized in 2019.
